InfoDASD - DASD Reporting & Analysis

InfoDASD integrates disk performance, ownership and usage to show a complete picture of your DASD resources using accurate RMF, SMF and DCOLLECT data. InfoDASD simplifies the reporting and analysis of complex DASD environments by providing trending reports and comprehensive graphs on all elements of DASD performance and utilization.

InfoTape - Tape Reporting & Analysis

InfoTAPE is a complete system, which can be used to generate status reports, comprehensive graphs and monthly trend analysis using accurate SMF and tape management system data. InfoTAPE reports on all aspects of your tape device performance, as well as tape media utilization. InfoTAPE also reports on IBM’s VTS (Virtual Tape Server), showing the relationship between physical and virtual drives and mounts, as well as critical statistics surrounding VTS Fast-Ready, the tape volume cache, stages, migrates and reclaimation.

SMFUTIL / SMFVIEW - SMF Data Management

SMFUTIL is the SMF data management and movement utility that S390 installations around the world are utilizing to automate their SMF processing. SMFUTIL combines speed with extreme flexibility and versatility in the handling of SMF data. It greatly enhances the availability and accessibility of SMF data while reducing the resources required to process this large, yet valuable data source. SRS - Storage Request System

SRS, Storage Request System, is an ISPF driven program designed to communicate file related requests between a user and the DASD Management Group. SRS tracks each request and maintains the information within a VSAM database for further forecasting and reporting purposes.

DSO – DASD Space Optimizer

DSO will keep the fragmentation-index permanently at an optimized level and keep the still necessary defrag function transparent in the production environment. The storage administrator will define within DSO the volumes that are to be optimized using selection criteria that eliminate maintenance. The highest fragmentation is usually evident where many activities (like creation, extension and deletion of datasets) take place. Typically, the work, test and batch production volumes are hit the most. With DSO, you can set different thresholds for different groups of volumes.
